What’s the difference between rekeying and replacing a lock?
Rekeying changes the pins inside your existing lock so old keys stop working, and keeps the hardware you already have. Replacing swaps the whole lock, which makes sense when the lock is worn out or you want an upgrade.
Should I rekey after moving into a new home?
It’s a good idea. You don’t know who still has keys from the previous owners, and rekeying is a quick fix.
